The Scriptures

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally and complete inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible and God-breathed, and therefore are the sole authority for faith and life. We believe the Authorized King James Version of the Bible is the preserved word of God for English speaking people and shall be the official and only translation used by the church in all of its ministries.  We believe and teach that the Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.  It is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions shall be tried. 2Tim.3:16,17; 2Pet.1:19-21; Ps.119:89; Heb.4:12; Isa.8:20; Rom.15:4;  Jn.17:17;12:47-50; Psalm 12:6-7; 119:89; John 10:35

The Being of God

We believe in one and only one God who is Spirit, self-existent, immutable, eternal, infinite in wisdom and power, holiness and love. He is the Creator, Upholder and absolute Ruler of the universe.  He is absolute in nature, perfect in attribution, and holy in character.

Eph.4:6: Ex.20:2-3; Jn.4:24; 2Tim.1:17; Rom.11:33; Ps.90:2; Gen.1:26; Matt.28:19; 1Jn.5:7 Nehemiah 9:6; Ps. 102:25; Isaiah 46:9; Mark 12:32; John 4:24; 1 John 4:8

The Person of Christ

  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal only begotten Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men.

(Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Corinthians 5:19-21; Galatians 4:4-5; Philippians 2:5-8)

  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through his shedding of his blood and by his death on the cross as our only representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and, that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead

(Acts 2:18-36; Roman 3:24, Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5; 2:24; John 14:6)

  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where, as our High Priest. He fulfills the ministry of our Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.

(Acts 1:9-10; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25; 9:24; 1 John 2:1-2)

  • We believe in the pre-tribulational rapture of the saints when we will be caught up together to meet Christ in the air. We also believe in the pre- millennial return of Christ with His saints to rule and reign for 1000 years. (John 14:1-3; I Thessalonians 2:19, 3:13, 4:13-17, 5:23)

The Holy Spirit

  • We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, uniting all believers in the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.

(John 16:8-11; Romans 8:9; 2 Corinthians 3:6; Ephesians 1:13-14)

  • The Holy Spirit assists believers to understand and appropriate the Scriptures and that it is the privilege and duty of all the saved to be filled with the Spirit.

(Ephesians 1:17-18; 5:18; 1 John 2:20, 27)

  • He bestows spiritual gifts to every believer.

(Romans 12:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 28; Ephesians 4:7-12)

  • We believe that the sign gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as speaking in tongues and the gift of healing were temporary. We believe that speaking in tongues was never the common or necessary sign of the baptism or filling of the Holy Spirit and that ultimate deliverance of the body from sickness or death awaits the consummation of our salvation in the resurrection, though God frequently chooses to answer the prayers of believers for physical healing.

(1 Corinthians 1:22; 13:8; 14:21-22; James 5:13-15)

The Trinity

We believe that God has revealed Himself through the scriptures in these three modes of existence, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, that each of these is presented to us as a divine person, to be distinctly recognized and adored, yet that they are the same essence and are one God.  Each One has a distinct office in the work of Redemption.

(Matthew 28:19; Hebrews 1:3; John 14:26; I John 5:7)

The Fall of Man

We believe that man was created in the image and after the likeness of GOD, but he by voluntary transgression fell from his sinless and happy estate. The resulting consequences are that all men are now sinners not by constraint, but by choice and are therefore under the just condemnation of God, without excuse or defense. (Genesis 1:26, 3:6; Romans 5:12)

Salvation

  • We believe that salvation is the free gift of GOD’s eternal blessing through the atonement of Jesus Christ. It is bestowed upon all who repent of their sins and by faith call upon Christ as Lord and Saviour. (Romans 1:16-17; 3:22-30; 4:3-8, 24; 10:8-13)We believe that through grace we are saved by faith alone and not by any mixture of law and works. It is the gift of God. It is totally the work of God through His Son Jesus Christ.

(Romans 4:13-16; 11:6; Ephesians 2:8-9)

  • We believe that God has elected (chosen, predestinated) for all persons who place their faith in the Person and finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation to go to heaven(Corporate Election of Believers).  God has also elected (chosen, predestinated) every believer to be conformed into the likeness of Christ.  Salvation is for whosoever will.  The Sovereign God has allowed man the responsibility to choose Christ or reject Him.

(2Tim.1:8,9; 2Thess.2:13,14; Jn.6:37-40; Rom.8:28-31; 2Pet.1:10,11; 3:9)

Human Sexuality

We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography as sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. Having stated this we stand and will preach against all forms of sexual deviancy while trying to express God’s love to the sinner that they might turn from their sin and receive Christ’s forgiveness.

(Genesis  2:24;  19:5-9,  13;  26:8-9;  Leviticus  18:1-30;  Romans  1:26-29;  1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:9; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4)

Divorce and Remarriage

We believe the Scriptures teach that God intends marriage to last until one of the spouses dies. The act of divorce and remarriage is regarded as adultery except on the grounds of fornication. Although divorced and remarried persons or divorced persons may hold positions of service in the church and be greatly used of God for Christian service, they may not be considered for the offices of pastor or deacon.

(Malachi 2:14-17; Matthew 19:3-12; Romans 7:1-3; 1 Timothy 3:2, 12; Titus 1:6)

Missions

We believe that God has given the church a Great Commission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations so that there might be a great multitude from every nation, tribe, ethnic and language group who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. As ambassadors of Christ we must use all Scriptural means to go to the foreign nations and not wait for them to come to us.

(Matthew 28:19-20; Luke 24:46-48; Acts.1:8)

Lawsuits Between Believers

We believe that Christians within the church are prohibited from bringing civil lawsuits against other Christians, or the church, to resolve personal disputes. We believe the church possesses all the resources necessary to resolve personal disputes between members. We do believe, however that a Christian may seek compensation for injuries from another Christian’s insurance company as long as the claim is pursued without malice or slander.

(1 Corinthians 6:1-8; Ephesians 4:31-32)

Separation

We believe that the Bible admonishes believers to practice separation. Therefore, we will not participate in any ecumenical program which promotes diverse faiths to come together for the purpose of worship or evangelism. (Romans 16:17; 2 Corinthians 6:17; 2 Thessalonians 3:6; Titus 1:13)

We also believe that the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Saviour and Lord. God commands his people to separate from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices, and associations; and to refrain from all immodest and immoderate appearances, piercings, and bodily markings.

(Romans 12:1-2, 14:13; 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1; Ephesians 5:11; 2 Timothy 3:1-5)

Giving

We believe that every Christian, as a steward of that portion of God’s wealth entrusted to him, is obligated to support his local church financially. We believe that God has established the tithe (10%) as a basis for giving, but that every Christian should also give other offerings sacrificially and cheerfully to the support of the church, the relief of those in need, and the spread of the Gospel. (Genesis 14:20; Proverbs 3:9-10; Acts 4:34-37; 1 Corinthians 16:2;

2 Corinthians 9:6-7; Galatians 6:6; Ephesians 4:28; 1 Timothy 5:17-18; I John 3:17)

The Visible Local Church

We believe that a Christian Church is a body of baptized believers. The local church is organized on the principles of the New Testament, and permanently associated for the purpose of mutual edification and diffusion of the Gospel, worship, fellowship, service, and observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Table, and the offices are Pastor and Deacons.

(1 Corinthians 1:2; Acts 2:41, 42-47; 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1)

The Ordinances of the Local Church

We believe that to be baptized into the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit is the divinely appointed duty of every believer in Christ; and is appropriate for believers only. That baptism is by the immersion of the body in water, and is an indispensable prerequisite to church membership, and a pre- requisite to participation at the Lord`s Supper, and that by command of Christ, the Lord`s Supper is to be regularly celebrated in the local church in commemoration of His dying love until His second coming.

(Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:48; Matthew 26:26-30; 1 Corinthians 11:23-34; Acts 2:41-42)

Creation

We believe that God created the Heavens and the Earth and all therein in 6 literal 24 hour days as written in Genesis.

(Genesis 1-3)

Authority of the Statement of Faith

The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The Bible itself is the sole source of all that we believe. We do believe the statement of faith is Scriptural and should be accepted by all church members.
